Matty Taylor, at just 18 years of age strives to become a household name in the local house & tech scene.

Being born in Chester and having an upbringing in Ellesmere Port, opportunities for immediate home town gigs and exposure haven’t been easy with an extremely limited night life to hand; however Matty has been blessed to be on the border of the Wirral and Liverpool, where two of his major influences have carved their extremely sucessful paths.

Having heard his first dose of techno at the age of 13, Matty started an early introduction to music picking up his first decks at the age of 14 and went on to study Music Production at his local college after leaving High School, keeping all things music related firmly on the radar.

First meeting with a group of fellow younger DJ’s, Matty had his first exposure to live performance/DJ’ing as part of ACD:LAB which allowed him to share influences, tracks and ideas with fellow DJ’s looking to make an impression as well as pick up a valuable introduction to local events and club nights.

Matty has since developed a solo alias and looking at the phenomenal rise of local sensations James Hype and Camelphat, gained inspiring mentors as both technical DJ’s and incredible producers.

Since carving a solo path, Matty has been fortunate at such a young age to be able to perform and gain exposure at The Love Island Final After Party at The Shankly Hotel in Liverpool, a Creamfields after party at WAV as well as laying down tracks to a lively commercial audience at Our Bar, Liverpool City Centre alongside experiened jock and producer Dave Bolton.

From this experience gathered in the recent years from DJ’ing, Matty has a keen ear for production and has just had his first single released titled “All the things” to “Subtoxic Records”

As things stand at the writing of this bio; live gigs are few and far between.

Matty has adapted to this pandemic and is still loud & proud performing for Toxic Dance, presented by Subtoxic Records and Ultra Events on a Saturday night (9 till 10pm!) as well as a host of weekly live sets on his Facebook artist page.  Be sure to tune in, check out the sets and show your support!
